<p>Ronald Roether, 77, of Reading, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at his residence.</p><p><br></p><p>He was born in New Mexico to the late Ralph and Margaret (Meashey) Roether.</p><p><br></p><p>Ronald worked as a truck driver. In his free time, he enjoyed motorcycles, especially Harley Davidson, spending time with his family, and loved his John Deere. Ronald enjoyed NASCAR, dirt track racing, and boating. He was also an avid fisherman. Always willing to lend a helping hand, he was often helping others with anything he could.</p><p><br></p><p>Ronald is survived by a son, Ronald Roether, Jr.; a daughter, Denise, wife of John Durling; two grandsons, Samuel V. Scicchitano, III, Matthew Durling; a great-grandchild, Cameron Durling and a sister, Joanne, wife of Dale Stahl.</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Roland Roether.</p><p><br></p><p>A viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, from 10 to 11 AM at Stradling Funeral Home, 201 Church Avenue, Ephrata, followed by his funeral service at 11 AM, with Rev. Kathryn Kuhn officiating. Interment will take place in Mellingers Union Cemetery.</p><p><br></p><p>Memorial contributions in Ronald's memory may be made to Humane League of Lancaster, 2195 Lincoln Hwy E., Lancaster, PA 17602.</p><p><br></p><p>Arrangements by Stradling Funeral Homes, Inc., Akron/Ephrata. </p>

Ronald Roether, 77, of Reading, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at his residence.


He was born in New Mexico to the late Ralph and Margaret (Meashey) Roether.
