Vincent Paul Edwards, born on December 3, 1927 to the late Mary Camaron and Mandie Edwards in Treelawny, Jamaica. He was also preceded in death by five siblings (Stanley Edwards, Erman Edwards, Latena Pottinger, Benjamin Pottinger, and Hazel Pottinger) Vincent (affectionately called Vinny) went home to be with the Lord on March 21. 2024 at his home in Bridgeport, Connecticut at the age of 96. Vincent asked to celebrate his recent milestone birthday 12/3/27 on zoom in order to include loved ones far to and near. That was Uncle Vinny! A man who loved his family.


Vincent grew up in Treelawny and Kingston, Jamaica where he was cherished by many. Throughout his life Vinny was the go-to person for a listening ear and sound, solid advice. Vincent received his education in Jamaica. He was known among his family and friends for his enthusiasm for learning and his friendly laid-back demeanor. He loved to prepare his native foods-- even teaching his wife and his daughter.


Vincent was a faithful member of Stillman Baptist Church. He also supported the mission of his wife in serving the Sickle Cell Disease Association Of America CT communities.


He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 27 years, Delores Edwards , two children ( Kelvin Ellis and Maxine Forgety), three sisters (Ethlyn Muir, Gwendolyn Smith, and Gloria Edwards. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. He leaves a legacy of hope, loyalty, love, kindness, and service to others. May you rest in peace Vinny knowing you are forever in our hearts.
