<p>Jose Hector Santiago, affectionately known as Papo, passed away on March 20, 2024, at the age of 71.</p><p><br></p><p>Born on December 12, 1952, in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, to Jaime Santiago and Blanca Rosa Santiago, Papo was a beloved member of his community.</p><p><br></p><p>At the age of 5, Papo relocated with his parents to Norwalk, CT, where he attended public school and laid down roots that would shape his life. Known for his loving and caring nature, Papo was always ready to lend a helping hand to those around him. He worked in the landscape industry, showcasing his passion for nature and the outdoors.</p><p><br></p><p>In his free time, Papo found joy in working on cars, riding his scooter, and spending time with his loyal companion, his dog Whiskey. Family was always at the center of his life, and he was a devoted father to his four children, Jose Santiago Jr, Joseph Santiago, Julie Santiago, and Rose Marie Santiago.</p><p><br></p><p>Papo is survived by his siblings Carmen M. Ramos and Luz E. Moran, his children, and a host of family and friends who will always cherish the memories they shared with him. Although he is predeceased by his parents, their love and guidance will forever live on in his spirit.</p><p><br></p><p>Papo's legacy of kindness, generosity, and love will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace, his memory forever cherished in the hearts of those he touched.</p><p><br></p><p>Services will be held privately.
