Joe Obituary

Joseph Arthur Jackson, 90, passed on March 17, 2024 at Fatima Hospital and is now in the loving arms of his Savior. During his time in the hospital, he was attended every day by his wife, children and many friends.

Joe was born in Pawtucket, RI to Norman and Anna (Waterman) Jackson. He graduated high school and completed four years of service in the U.S. Army and served in the Korean war.

Joe was married to Marie Jackson on November 15, 1986; they were married for 37 years. They resided in Harrisville, RI for 17 years, moved to what Joe calls "God’s country" in Skowhegan, ME for 17 years and then returned to Burrillville to be closer to family in 2019.

For most of Joe’s working life he was a commercial artist for Tasca Ford. Upon leaving there, he worked 20 years as a dispatcher for the Cumberland Police Department and 10 years for Citizens Bank. Joe enjoyed drawing, playing his guitar, building craft airplanes and boats. When able, Joe was actively involved in his church, attending bible studies, playing his guitar and singing at Sunday worship, attended pray breakfasts and fellowship.

In addition to his loving wife Marie, he leaves behind daughters: Wendy Jackson-Burch and partner Frank McBride of Pawtucket, RI, Debbie Sutton and her husband Ted of Orleans, MA, Carolynn Woodis and her husband Scott of Pascoag, RI, Melissa Deprofio and her husband Steven of Pascoag, RI and Erin Boyle and her finance Jake Mello of Westport, MA; his 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Roberta (Green) Jackson, his brother Norman Jackson and his children: Robin Duffy and Jeffrey Jackson.

Services will be held April 13, 2024 at New Hope Baptist Church, Main Street, Pascoag RI. Remembrance and respect from 10 AM to 11AM and celebration of life service from 11 AM to 12 PM. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Boucher Funeral Home, 272 Sayles Ave. Pascoag, RI.
