Funeral services for Lois A. Schmidt age 92 of Wisner, NE will be held on Monday, March 25, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wisner, NE with Pastor Jared Hartman officiating. Interment will be in the Wisner Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner and will continue from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be directed to Wisner Fire and Rescue.


Lois passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at the Wisner Care Center.


Lois Ann Schmidt was born July 2, 1931 in Pender, NE to William and Adeline (Beineke) Siebrandt. She was baptized on July 19, 1931 and later confirmed on June 18, 1944 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, rural Pender, NE. Lois attended Cuming County Rural School District #59.


On November 25, 1951, she was united in marriage to Ralph Schmidt at St. John’s Lutheran Church, rural Pender, NE. The couple lived and farmed near Bancroft, NE until 1962, when they moved to the farm near Altona, NE.


Lois was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wisner, NE. She enjoyed cooking, and her sour cream raisin pie was a favorite, gardening, and her embroidery work she shared with everyone. Lois received several ribbons for her embroidery entered at the Cuming County Fair. Her family was near and dear to Lois.

Chris (Janelle) Steinkamp and children-Ellie, Beau, and Evan

Carin (Joe) Bejarno and children-Grady and Jada

Son-Roger Schmidt of Billings, MT

Daughter-Cindy and Stan Nathan of Hoskins, NE and family-

Kelly Nathan (Mark Woodbury) and children-Hudson and Madison

Kim (Eric) Vanosdall and children-Bree, Cole, and Boden

Justin (Torie) Nathan and children-Jagger and Stryker

Son-Clark and Patty Schmidt of Billings, MT and children-

Lisa Schmidt

Matt Schmidt

Daughter-Carol and Paul Wilson of Grimes, IA


Sister-in-law-Margaret Siebrandt of Norfolk, NE

Brother-in-law-Alvin Sorensen of Bancroft, NE

Several nieces and nephews also survive her.


Lois was preceded in death by her parents-William and Adeline Siebrandt, husband-Ralph Schmidt, siblings-Ervin (Delores) Siebrandt, Laura Sorensen, Dorothy (Bob) Hinrichs, and Glenn Siebrandt, uncle-Henry Siebrandt, and nephews (Godsons)-Randy Hinrichs and Mike Schmidt.


The family appreciates the love and support given to Lois during her time at the Wisner Care Center the last seven years.
