Obituary

Richard Allan Boughton

Richard’s family sadly announce his sudden passing, with his family by his side, on March 19, 2024, age 57 years, at the Collingwood G&M Hospital. Richard is the first born of parents Joan and the late Paul Boughton. He also leaves to mourn deeply his partner, Pam Casknette, his good friend Suzanne Halligan and daughter and son, Hallie and Duncan. His daughter Alexandra Kennedy (Michael) and grand- daughter, Emma will miss him deeply. Also grieving his loss are his siblings, Sarah Baumgarten (Kris) and Andy (Ali Buchanan). Nieces Sydney and Grace Baumgarten, Thea Clark and nephew George Clark will miss him too. Richard has aunts and uncles in Ontario and British Columbia as well as cousins in Ontario, BC, Utah (USA) and Israel mourning his loss, especially at family gatherings.

Richard leaves a huge hole in the hearts of his family and friends who were embraced by his loyalty and love, entertained by his stories, guitar playing and nourished by his famous ‘Boughton burgers’. Richard loved being on the water, proud captain, and tour guide of his boat at the family cottage in Muskoka & Katrine and here on Georgian Bay.

The family is especially grateful to the doctors and nurses at Collingwood G&M Hospital Emergency Dept and ICU as well as co-ordinators Georges and Catherine of Trillium Gift of Life for their compassion and patience as they all walked us through an excruciatingly painful four days.

A Memorial Service will be held at Trinity United Church, Thursday, March 28th, 2024, at 2pm with a reception following in the church hall. The service will be available by livestream Richard Boughton Service

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Collingwood General & Marine Hospital, Trinity United Church or a charity of your choice, in Richard’s memory.
