<p>The family is saddened to announce the passing of Margaret Ruth Vester on Wednesday March 20, 2024. Ruth was born July 28, 1935, in Port Arthur, ON. She was married in 1957 to Ernest Russell Vester and together they raised five children. Widowed at an early age in 1982, Ruth was committed to ensuring her children and grandchildren knew they were loved and cherished. A lifetime resident of the city, she was a parishioner at St. Margaret’s Roman Catholic Church, a member of the Catholic Women’s League, and the church’s bookkeeper for many years. Ruth is survived by her children: Bryan (Carol Ann) of Iowa, Brenda Romick (George), Dan (Leslie) of High River AB, Larry (Karen) and David (Carol); eight grandchildren, Amanda Krambeer (Mike), Caitlin, Corey (Kaylee), Vanessa Romick (Nolan Guenther), Adam Romick, Heather Romick (Brett DiGiuseppe), Ellis of Montreal, Ashley (Tanner Symonds); three great grandchildren, Layton and Tate Krambeer, and Brooklyn DiGiuseppe. Ruth welcomed Wendy’s son Brad MacDonald and Brett’s daughter Ava into her family as well. She is also survived by her devoted sister Ellen Dixon and family, and several cousins. Ruth was predeceased by her parents Harold and Agnes Friday, infant brother Robert, infant daughter Linda, brother-in- law Jack Dixon, nephew Tom Dixon, daughter-in-law Wendy Vester, and nephew-in-law Danny Lewtas. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at 11:00 am at St. Margaret’s Roman Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated by Father Ciaran Donnelly and Father Francis Pudicherry. A private interment will follow in St. Andrew’s Cemetery. To honour Ruth's memory donations may be made to St. Joseph's Hospice Unit. Online condolences may be expressed at www.sargentandson.com.</p>
