June Miller

June Chandler Miller, 72, of Yancey County, went home to be with the Lord, at her home on Wednesday, March 20, 2024. She is the daughter of the late Nina Chandler. June stayed at home while her children were growing up. She then received her nursing degree, which she later retired from after 30 years. She attended Fox Creek Baptist Church and devoted her life to serving the Lord. She enjoyed quilting, helping others, and was a Sunday school teacher for many years. Most of all she loved her grandchildren, which were her pride and joy.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Miller.

June is survived by her children, Vickie Presnell (Buddy), Joey Miller (Beverly), and Susan Ramsey (Josh), grandchildren, Toby McIntosh (Jessica), Samuel & Brandon Miller, and Karmen and Dalton Ramsey; and two great grandchildren, Levi & Addison McIntosh.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to June’s dear friend, Loretta Edwards, for honoring her last wishes and making it possible for her to stay in her home during her final days.

A funeral service will be held at 1pm Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Blue Ridge Funeral & Cremation Service. Reverend Keith Blankenship will officiate. A private burial will follow. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
