<p>Lyle Willard Cornish, 77, passed away March 16th, 2024, in Kennewick, WA. He was born August 21st, 1946, in Burlington, WA to Lyle J. and Florence V. Cornish. On January 21st, 2006, he married Frances Murphy. They made their home in Kennewick, WA.</p><p>Lyle never met a stranger. He had an outgoing personality and a teasing sense of humor. He left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He loved the Lord and enjoyed sharing that love with others. He was quick to help anyone that needed him, as he could fix or build about anything. He was kind, giving and caring and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.</p><p>Over the years Lyle had many hobbies including trap shooting, hunting and field trials with his dogs, fishing, 4 Rivers Search and Rescue, woodworking, and camping.</p><p>Lyle was a proud Navy veteran serving on the flight deck of USS Oriskany and the USS Enterprise from 1966-1969 during the Vietnam war.</p><p>After he left the Navy, Lyle worked at Stowes Clothing in Mt. Vernon, WA. He then worked as a Purchasing Agent for Purvis Plumbing and eventually became a plumber. Lyle then became a building inspector and worked for the City of Anacortes before relocating to Kennewick in 1991. Lyle worked for the Benton County Building department until his retirement in 2010. After his retirement he volunteered for the Kennewick Police Department.</p><p>Lyle was proceeded in death by his parents Lyle J. Cornish and Florence Funk and his sisters Roselyn Hooper and Marlene Fakkema.</p><p>Lyle is survived by his wife Frances Cornish, children; Debbie Cornish, Jeff Cornish (Marilynn), Rob Nunweiler, Jonelle Pavkov (Mark), grandchildren; Mike Estes, Phillip Chabot, Danielle Rooney (Jack), Bailey Perkes (Cody), Timothy Pavkov, Hannah Pavkov, Rebekah Pavkov, Daniel Pavkov; and great- grandchildren; Farrah Estes and Eveiah Chabot, Chloe Rooney, Kinley Perkes, Cole Perkes and Beau Perkes.</p><p>A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, April 13th, 2024, at South Hills Church. 3700 W. 27th Ave., Kennewick, WA 99337</p><p>In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the South Hills Church Benevolent Fund.</p><p><br></p>
