<p>Gary R. Beasley, 81, of Paris, Illinois, passed away at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at his home. He was retired from the Illinois Department of Corrections.</p><p><br></p><p>He was born November 1, 1942, in Paris, the son of the late Carroll D. and Hallie I. (Cockcroft) Beasley. He married Anna Marie Propst on May 9, 1970, in Terre Haute, Indiana, and she survives.</p><p><br></p><p>Other survivors include a sister-in-law, Joan Beasley and family, as well as several extended family and dear friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Beasley.</p><p><br></p><p>Mr. Beasley was a 1960 graduate of Paris High School, and served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1966. He was a member of Prairie Lodge #77 Ancient Free &amp; Accepted Masons, AASR Valley of Danville, Ansar Shrine Temple, and the Edgar County Shrine Club. Gary was an avid bowler for many years and was inducted in 1991 into the Greater Terre Haute, Indiana, Bowlers Hall of Fame.</p><p><br></p><p>For those who wish, the family suggests that memorials be made to the ECCF D.O. it Cancer Support Group or to Prairie Lodge #77.</p><p><br></p><p>SERVICE INFORMATION</p><p><br></p><p>Services celebrating his life were conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 25, 2024 at Templeton Funeral Home with Pastor Troy Horne officiating. Masonic rites were conducted by Prairie Lodge #77 A.F. &amp; A.M. Burial followed in Edgar Cemetery with military honors provided by American Legion Post 211. Casket bearers were Thad Cary, Ron Gilbert, Ray Korte, Dean Muchow, Tony Peel, and Glenn Strow. Honorary casket bearers were Joel Gleckler, Roger Green, and Steve Stark.
