William Fisher

<p>FISHER, William of Stoneham, formerly of Somerville and Canton MA, passed away on March 20, 2024. Beloved husband of over 75 years to Marguerite (McIssac). William, or Jimmy as he was affectionately known as, was born in Surrey, England before becoming a Merchant Marine and ultimately serving in the New Zealand Navy. Professionally, he was a long-standing employee of Hobbs and Warren and was the familiar face at the Lenox Hotel in Copley Square. Jimmy was a bellman at the Lenox for over 60 years. His greatest accomplishment by far is his loving family. Dedicated father of David Fisher and his wife Sharon of Medford, Alison Gill and her husband Richard of Boston, and preceded in death by his</p><p>eldest son John Fisher of Canton. Cherished and proud grandfather to Eric Fisher and his wife Patty of Newburyport, Scott Fisher of San Diego, Shaun Fisher and his wife Lauren of Charlestown, and Kate Palmer and her husband Ian of Southborough. Also survived by 6 loving great grandchildren, Jake, Wyatt, Harrison, Donovan, Charlie and Will.</p><p>A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 24, 2024 at Teresa’s Ristorante in Woburn MA from 3pm-6pm. Interment is private. Funeral services are under the direction of Lane Funeral Home.</p>
