Joyce L Parker Obituary

Joyce King-Parker made her debut on earth, October 3,1958, to the union of the late, Early King, Jr. and Julia Randle-King. She was the youngest of 4 children.

Joyce confessed her life to Christ at an early age at St. Phillips Lutheran Church. She was a faithful member at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor James Willis Sr. She found herself renewed in Christ after joining St. Paul Baptist Church. She spoke highly of her pastor and church family. After a

long illness, Joyce departed this life suddenly on, March 19, 2024. She is now reveling in a perfect body with Christ.

Joyce graduated from Whitney Vocational High School in 1976. She took on several occupational endeavors throughout her Life. They ranged from driving trucks for Ryder, a lab tech and radiology technician, at the Toledo Hospital and she retired as a medical coder, after being injured on the job. She had several hobbies which included bowling (she kept a green ball), crocheting, (where she gifted many blankets), and puzzles. She had a green thumb and was very passionate about caring for her plants. Being a mom and grandmother was top-tier to her, but her nails were her jewels which were often a conversation starter. She often traveled near and far to visit family that she dearly loved. Joyce was also known for her fried corn, potato salad and "secret" spaghetti.

Joyce was married to Robert Parker Sr. and to this union a set of twin boys DarRon and AaRon Parker were born. These two were her pride and joy.

Joyce was preceded in death by both parents Early and Julia King, brother Otis king, sister Lillian King-McCray, nephews, Edward King and Otis King Jr., and great-nephew, Kidon Mccalebb.

Joyce leaves to mourn her passing, sons, DarRon (Shalicia) and AaRon (Jackie) of North Carolina; brother, Edward (Yvette) King; grandchildren, DaMarriyah "Peanut Butter", l'Jahiona "Butter Bean", Gabriella "Gabby", Jeremiah "Jerry" , AaRon "Little AaRon", NyJaun "Bruh Bruh", and Robert "Robbie"; (she had a name for them all), 8 nieces and 3 nephews: godson, Ricky Willis, aunts, Emma Farlins, Mattie Cage, uncles, A.D. King, Leroy (Jackie) King, all of Illinois, notable cousins/sisters, Beverly Harwell of Illinois, and Giesela Wiggins, of North Carolina; lifelong friend/sister Carmen Sparks, dear friend, Tawana Johnson, and special church members, Mary Brown and Mary Liggins; a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, great- great nieces, great-great nephews; a slew of cousins.

"The weary hours, the days of pain the sleepless nights have passed. Her ever patient and worn-out frame has found sweet rest at last".
