<p>Kenneth Eugene Ambrose, age 88, of 808 Concord Street, Selma, Virginia died Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at his residence.</p><p>Kenneth was born on March 3, 1936 in Eagle Rock, Virginia, at the family home on Craigs Creek, to the late Wesley Macon Ambrose and Velma Louise Thompson Ambrose. He served in the United States Marine Corp, and was a laborer with H. O. Canfield for over 35 years. He was a member of the Church of the Brethren in Selma and stayed active with many interests. He was a sharp shooter, a bee keeper, and an artist. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and listening to music. He especially loved the music of rain landing on a tin roof.</p><p>In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Linda L. Perkins and Joan E. Hilton.</p><p>He is survived by his wife, Julia Lee Hyler Ambrose of Selma; his children, Bobby E. Ambrose and wife Kelly of Cross Lanes, WV, Belinda L. Ambrose of Covington, Kenny D. Ambrose and wife Dawn of Jacksonville, FL, and Donna F. Ambrose of Covington; a sister, Faye Fields and husband Don of Charlottesville; a brother, Freddie Ambrose and wife Carolyn of Covington; four grandchildren, Brittany Jessica Jo Hanley and husband Patrick, Brandon Bo Joshua Ambrose and wife Cassie, Timmy Ambrose, and Cody Ambrose; and a number of great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. The family would like to thank Kenneth’s friends, Susan Hubbard, Joey Hoke, and the Hardees Clifton Forge crew, especially Miss Hallie.</p><p>A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 25, 2024 at 12:00 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Reverend Robert McRae officiating. Interment will follow in Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge.
