Services for Nora D. (Davis) Kieser, 90, of Willoughby, will be at 4 PM on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.


The family will receive friends from 1-4 PM on Saturday, prior to the service.


Mrs. Kieser passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 21, 2024, surrounded by her family.


Born January 16, 1934 in Berea, she was raised in Ashtabula, then lived in Kirtland for 48 years before moving to Willoughby four years ago.


She was a member of Mentor United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir, and was privileged to sing at Carnegie Hall in New York with the choir. She was a world traveler and longtime volunteer at the Holden Arboretum; Nora enjoyed golfing and participated in the Lost Nation Belles golf league and painting at the Kirtland Public Library.


She was a graduate of Kent State University, class of 1956, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Architecture and later took additional classes at Lakeland Community College, John Carroll University, Lake Erie College and Cleveland State University.


Mrs. Kieser was employed as clerk for the Lake County Department of Human Services and as a caseworker for Lake County Bureau of Support; she also had worked as teller and new accounts representative at the former BankOne and as substitute teacher in various Lake and Geauga County school districts. She also assisted her husband in the operation of his insurance business, Grand Valley Insurance Agency in Mentor.


Survivors are her children, Edward (Lucia) Kieser, Kiki Murdock and Frederic (Tara) Kieser; grandchildren, Carolyn (Jim) O’Hearn, Steve Murdock, Luciana Kieser, Elena Kieser and A.J. Kieser and great-grandsons, Jameson and Declan O’Hearn.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Kieser, Jr. on January 28, 1997. Her parents, Richard Lee Davis and Helen (Lane) Weber and step-sister, Sally are also deceased.


Private family burial will be in Acacia Park Cemetery in Mayfield Heights.
