Gina Marie Rush Obituary

Gina Rush, 61, passed away on March 18th, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted follower of Christ from a young age and is now with her Lord and Savior in Heaven.

Gina, the baby of 6, was born in Oklahoma City on January 11, 1963 to Johnnie and JoAnne Mazzolini.

She has been a member of St. James the Greater Catholic Church since birth. She attended St. James during grade school and then graduated from Mount St. Mary’s High school in 1980.

After high school, Gina began working for Southwestern Bell/AT&T and retired in 2022 after 41 years of dedicated service.

She was known as a wife, mother and pretty princess, but her favorite title was Grammy! She had a special place in her heart for her grandkids and you could usually find her wherever they were. Her family was her greatest treasure. She dreamed of having a family commune and often begged her kids and siblings to buy up a bunch of land so we could have our own little neighborhood.

She had a life-long love affair with chips and queso, ice cream cones and The Bold and The Beautiful. Her favorite activities included karaoke, all day shopping trips with her daughters, girls’ weekend with her best friends, epic family game nights, rolling faces with her grandkids, traveling with the love of her life and always wanting to hold his hand.

We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Gina during her 61 years, among them: Never throw anything away. Like Ever. (Just In case you might need it someday), eating toast and taking Claritin can cure any ailment including broken bones and if you tilt your head just right and whine you’ll get anything you want.

Gina leaves behind;

Her loving and devoted husband of 29 years, James Rush. It was love at first sight when these two met in Oct of 1993 and were married on January 1st, 1994.

Her kids, whom she took every opportunity to spend time with, Tracy Bingham and husband Daniel; Lindsay VanCuren and husband Dustin; Becca James and husband Gary.

Her precious grandchildren, Chandler (23), Bailey (18), Taytum (15), Ryder (10), her “mini” Sutton (7) and Olivia (6). She spoiled them all rotten and they rarely heard her say the word NO.

Her siblings, whom she adored and would not let a day go by without reminding them that she was “The Favorite”. Judy Coakley and husband, Tom; Mike Mazzolini and wife, Tanya; Cindy Herring and husband, Allin; Mark Mazzolini and wife, Jan; Mary Lynn Gantz and husband Randy

And step siblings, Brenda Skaggs; Kim Lutke and husband Barry; Brent Kennedy; Monica Spears and husband, Bryan; Mike Denker and wife, Lisa; Chris Denker and wife, Nichole.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and JoAnne Mazzolini; Her bonus mother’s, Evelyn Mazzolini and Helene Mazzolini and her Step brother Bruce Kennedy.

Gina will always be remembered for her contagious smile, joyful spirit, laughter and her love for Jesus. Known as the peacekeeper, she was always encouraging and providing hope to everyone. She will be deeply missed. Although she is no longer on this earth, her light will shine through the lives she touched.

We love you the most, infinity and beyond, no take backs!
