CLEVELAND, VIRGINIA -- Mary Alice Rasnake, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2024. She was born on April 6, 1934, in Dickenson County, Virginia, the daughter of the late Henry and Flarnie Smith Dotson.

She was a member of Carbo Community Church. She loved her family and treasured everyone she met as if they were her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband T. J. Rasnake; an infant daughter, Kathy Marie Rasnake; sisters, Margie Anninziata and Thelma Pulcini; brothers, Henry Shine Dotson, Everett Dotson, Earnie Glenn Dotson, Stacy Dotson, and Kermit Dotson.

Survivors include her children, Helen Diane Tignor, James Lester Rasnake and wife Elaine, Tammy L. Ratliff, and Donna Shockley; grandchildren, Maranda Tuggle and fiancé Robert Matheson, Shaliko Ratliff, Cody Tuggle, Mary Beth Tignor, and Kenny Rasnake; great grandchildren, Remington Tuggle, Easton Tuggle, Michael Paul Dennis Ratliff, and Gabrel Mark Ratliff; sister, Berta Barone; brothers, Earl Dotson and Richard Dotson; special family friends, Logan Moore and Jimmy Crabtree.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, in the Owens Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Roger Phillips officiating.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the funeral home one hour before the service.
