Genevieve L Buchanan passed away suddenly on March 5, 2024.

She was born on November 8, 1977, in Boston, MA to the late Duane Buchanan and late Lynette Maupin.

Genevieve was known as a dedicated and hard worker as she was the Administrative Director at the Vivienne Thomson Advocacy Center/Minorities with Disabilities Advocacy Center for several years before transitioning to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in 2003. She remained at Brigham and Women’s Hospital for over 10 years. Genevieve was the Business Office Manager at The Guardian Center nursing home where she remained until her passing.

Genevieve was loved by her family, friends, and many co-workers. She enjoyed traveling and exploring the world. Genevieve was known for her cooking skills as she often shared her meals with family and friends. Genevieve was known as caretaker and protector of her loved ones as she often spoke up for those she felt were unjust and opened her home to family in times of need. She loved to laugh and make others smile.

Genevieve was an active and devoted member of the Abundant Grace Church and was baptized on August 20, 2023.

Genevieve leaves to mourn her two children, Da’Quan Buchanan and Kalisha Buchanan, grandson, Amar’e Buchanan, sisters, Marsha Maupin and Danya Maupin, cousins, Dalton Maupin and Jamal Maupin and a host of extended relatives including aunts, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

She is pre-deceased by her parents, Duane Buchanan and Lynette Maupin, grandmother, Marsha S. Maupin and best friend, Kara Burge.
