Virginia Rose Boynton Obituary

Our mother, Rose Boynton passed away early Tuesday morning on March 19, 2024, peacefully, with family by her side. Born and raised in Montgomery County, MD, and living in the area her entire life, she was married to George M. Boynton, who passed away in 2009, and is survived by her two sons, a daughter-in-law, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

For the past few months, while she's been in hospice, we were able to share memories and reflect on where life had brought us. Until her final days, she always asked about her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved her family so much! We will miss you, Mom! May your next journey be full of love and light!

A memorial visitation will be held at DeVol Funeral Home, 10 East Deer Park Drive, Gaithersburg, MD on Sunday, March 24, 2024 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM.

Wild Geese

You do not have to be good.

You do not have to walk on your knees

For a hundred miles through the desert, repenting.

You only have to let the soft animal of your body

love what it loves.

Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.

Meanwhile the world goes on.

Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain

are moving across the landscapes,

over the prairies and the deep trees,

the mountains and the rivers.

Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air,

are heading home again.

Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,

the world offers itself to your imagination,

calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting —

over and over announcing your place

in the family of things.
