Obituary

Shauna O'Neill Mullins burst into the world on August 21,1991 and like a pebble tossed into a pond she created ripples that will continue to touch people even though her time on this earth was far too short.

Shauna was born in Newton Massachusetts to Bill and MaryBeth (Minihane) Mullins. She was immediately welcomed with love by her sister Jackie, and the entire Minihane-Mullins family and group of friends that had been waiting impatiently for her arrival. In true Shauna fashion she had to make sure her hair was perfect, so after a couple of false starts she decided that arriving the day before her mom's 29th birthday would be pretty funny. Having MaryBeth celebrate her 29th birthday in the hospital was just the first act in a short lifetime of "let’s see what I can do now:"

Shauna's parents always had a love of the ocean which Shauna embraced and she was thrilled (not) when they moved to Wells. She found herself surrounded by the sea and was sure she had been a mermaid in a past life and was destined to be one again. Shauna was born under the Leo birth sign, a fire sign, which reflected her personality, bold, brave, kind and loving. If she loved you, she loved you fiercely and she protected those relationships. If you hurt someone she loved, she would never forget it. Shauna treated everyone with kindness and people were drawn to her because they knew she didn't judge.

Shauna had many health struggles in her life that she didn't ask for, but she faced each of them bravely and knew she always had her Mom as her biggest champion and her Dad's unwavering support. Losing her Dad was probably the hardest thing she ever had to face, but in typical Shauna fashion she was a strong source of support for MaryBeth, Jackie, Connor and Liam while dealing with her own grief.

Shauna had so many talents and with such a wide variety of interests it took her time to find the right fit. She finally did, ironically following in her Mom's field with the same aptitude for numbers. Every job she held she continued to draw people to her and widen her circle of friends. How many new friendships were created because of this one beautiful soul? Countless…

Shauna's happiest achievement was being called Auntie by her sister Jackie's children Isabella, Maverick and Zoey as well as her friends children who she thought of as her nieces and nephews. As well as her Godson, Justin Bagley, her best friend Kristen’s son, who called her “Auntie Nana”.

Shauna leaves behind so many people that will cherish her memory including her Mother MaryBeth, her Brothers Connor and Liam, her Sister and Brother in law Jackie and Brandon Williams and her “Reverse Stepmother”, Kathy Mullins Cincotta. She also leaves behind her Aunts and Uncles, Nancy Minihane (Joe Allonby), Neil Minihane, Lauren (John) McGrath, Michele Minihane Zabachta and Brenda Rezaie, Cousins Olivia Zabachta, Sarah McGrath, Denis and Christopher McGrath, and Ryan, Jason and Brandon Rezaie, as well as Great Aunts and Uncle Paul, Susan, Maureen and Helen (Bobby) Minihane, George Finigan, Donna, and family, and her "Godmama" Sharon Reed and her beloved cat Binx, who is now MaryBeth's problem...Shauna's last laugh!

She was predeceased by her father Bill whom she missed so much, her beloved Grandparents “Nana” and “Papa” Janet and Denis Minihane, “Mimi” Rosemary Mullins, Virgil Mullins and Uncle Bobby Mullins as well as Great Aunt Helen Clarke and Great Uncle Bobby Minihane.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, March 23, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 111 Chapel Road, Wells, ME 04090.

The outpouring of love that MaryBeth, Jackie, Connor and Liam have been shown over the past few days is a testament to the vast amount of love that Shauna left in the world. The best way to remember Shauna is to be kind to a stranger, comfort a crying child and when you hear Whitney Houston sing " I wanna dance with somebody" crank it up, sing at the top of your lungs and dance like nobody’s watching, because you know Shauna will be, and she's smiling and dancing with you!
