Margaret O'Connell Requidan

Margaret O’ Connell Requidan, 72, of Lake Anna Virginia in Spotsylvania County passed away on her birthday, Sunday, March 17, 2024, in central Virginia, where she lived and called home for the last 24yrs.

Margaret was born March 17th, 1952, in Washington D.C. The daughter of Julian O’Connell and Hilda Cordelia of Winchester Va. She was married to Rick Requidan on August 26, 1983. She was a member of the Ruritans Belmont Women’s Club in Mineral Va. She loved boating and fishing. She loved her grandkids and taught them how to swim and fish. She enjoyed baking from scratch and created wonderful cakes. Margaret was an avid reader. The Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon was one of her favorites. She was also a great artist and created many wonderful paintings. She loved teaching her grandkids how to paint. She enjoyed karaoke and loved to dance. She also loved to knit and loved animals, especially her pets.

Along with her loving husband of 41 years, Rick, Margaret is survived by her brother James Michael of Denver Colorado, her son, Erik Requidan and his wife Veronica Requidan of Ashburn, Va. grandchildren, Emma Requidan, Sophia Requidan and Lucas Requidan, sister-in-law Ailsa White and her husband Jerry White and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Julian and Hilda O’Connell and brother Julian Stephan O’Connell.

The family will receive friends Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester, VA, from 10am to 11am. A short service will follow at Jones Funeral Home at 11am. Burial will take place at Rest United Methodist Church Cemetery, Frederick County, VA.
