<p>Roger Lee Smith, 67, of Ottumwa, died March 15, 2024 at his home.</p><p>He was born June 19, 1956 in Waterloo to Merle and Ladonna Parker Smith. He married Fay Pearl Lancaster Clark May 26, 1989.</p><p>Growing up in Waterloo, Roger had worked at John Deere Waterloo Works for a short time. Living in various places including Muscatine, IA, he worked at several meat packing plants. He moved to Ottumwa over 30 years ago, working at Excel. He retired from JBS in Ottumwa. Roger enjoyed working, helping with odds and ends jobs for his friends and neighbors, even working at Hy-Vee until recently.</p><p>Roger loved camping and spending time at the Eagles Lodge playing the ticket machines. He also enjoyed spending time with his nephew, Keith, fishing and building things.</p><p>Surviving is his wife, Fay; children, Angie Smith, Mandy Headington, Gary Smith, Tammy Wilson, Dave Wilson, Troy Clark and Brad Clark; several grandchildren including Brandon Trader, Corey Trader, Lylia Clark, Colton Clark and Caleb Clark; many great grandchildren; sisters, Robin Heath, Sheila Smith and Teena Lancaster; brothers, Steve Lancaster and Marvin Lancaster Jr., along with many nieces and nephews.</p><p>He was preceded in death by his father, Merle Smith; his mother, Ladonna Lancaster, a sister, Sandy Lancaster; two brothers, Ronnie Lancaster and Steve Lackland.</p><p>His body has been cremated and no services are planned.</p><p><br></p>
