Darlene Dawn Scears, age 65 of Bath, New York passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024. She was born on March 17, 1958 in Grand Rapids, Michigan the daughter of the late Louis A. and Mildred D. Detzler.

During her free time she enjoyed doing arts and crafts, crocheting, playing Bingo and solving jigsaw puzzles. She was also a member of the Bath Baptist Church.

Darlene is survived by two children: Greg Scears of NY, Stacey Scears of WI; two grandchildren: Jacksons Aaron Mullen and Mac Louis Scears; siblings: Ruth (Charles) Thomas of Bath, NY, Russel D. Detzler of MI, Scott A. Detzler of Bath; nieces and nephew: Marcia M. (Cliff) Margeson of Bath, Gary J. Murray Jr. of Campbell, Jessica D. Murray or Avoca; uncle and aunt: Ronald (Sandy) Speath, MI, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousin.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Sherry L. Detzler.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 6:00 pm at the Bath Baptist Church, 14 Howell St., Bath, NY. Any donations can be made to the Bath Baptist Church. 14 Howell St. Care of Pastor Dale Kee. She will be laid to rest at Seamans cemetery in Savona. Carpenter's Funeral Home, Corning, NY has been entrusted with the arrangements.
