Jane Carol (Carney) Cole

Bangor-Jane Carol (Carney) Cole, 86, passed away with loved ones present Monday, March 18,2024. She was born January 31,1938 in Ellsworth, the daughter of the late Roderick and Carol (Hodgkins) Carney.

Jane graduated from Ellsworth High School and attended Bouve-Boston School of Physical Education and Tufts University. She then transferred to the University of Maine at Machias. It was there that she met and later married her husband, Kenneth Cole, and had three children. Jane loved spending time with her family at camp. She also loved travelling with her husband Kenneth and their best friends, Cam and Wes Bates. Jane loved being active and outdoors. She loved hiking, canoeing, skiing and shooting baskets with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Jane was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, the late Kenneth Cole, and her brother James Carney. She is survived by her children, son Michael Cole, daughter Lynn Maddocks and her husband David, daughter Sheila Goodine; grandchildren Adam McKay, Joshua McKay and wife Tasha, Meghan Maddocks, Kalie Stuever and husband Rudy, Ryan Maddocks, Kaleb Goodine, Isabelle Goodine, eleven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Jane also had many friends who loved her and valued the experience, strength and hope that she gave to others.

Graveside services will be held later in the Spring at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Ohio Street, Bangor. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
