Evelyn Dorothy (Deimler) Woods, 72, of Newport, entered into her heavenly rest surrounded by loving family on Monday, March 18, 2024. Born in Enola, she was the daughter of the late Eugene R. Deimler, Sr. and Lucille M. (Hilmer) Deimler. She was a loving wife, mom, and grandma.

Evelyn was a lifelong member of Faith Tabernacle Congregation Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed flowers and plants and loved to read.

In addition to her husband John Woods, Evelyn is survived by her children James Bretz and wife Isa, Judy Mitchell and husband Tom, Wesley Bretz and wife Tanya, Tracy Straley and husband Paul, Craig Bretz, Shane Bretz, and Troy Bretz and wife Morgan; her grandchildren Alex Bretz and wife Amy, Ellen Reed and husband Trevor, Samantha Mitchell, James Bretz, II, Drew Bretz, Taylor Bretz, and Mila Bretz, as well as 2 great-grandchildren expected soon. She is also survived by her siblings Eugene Deimler and wife Deb, Greg Deimler, Evan Deimler, Doug Deimler, Annette Fickes, Gilbert Deimler and wife Patti, Sharon Nissel and husband William, Bonnie Deimler, Dwayne Deimler and wife Karen, Sylvester Deimler and wife Kathie, Paul Deimler and wife Karol, JoAnn Burkheimer, Ellen Themma and husband Michael, as well as a large extended family of cousins, nieces, and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Jay W. Bretz, Jr.; and three siblings, Brian Deimler, Ricky Deimler, and Trudy Deimler.

Services will be held at Wiedeman Funeral Home, 357 S Harrisburg Street, Oberlin, PA 17113 on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 12:00 PM with Rev. Rowland Foster officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Silver Spring Township. A Viewing will take place at the funeral home on Friday from 9:00 AM-12:00 PM.
