It is with much sadness but many happy memories, we announce the passing of Walter Wayne Blackmore March 7 2024 at New Vista Place, Long Term Care Home in Burnaby. Wayne was born March 29 1946 in Regina Sask. Wayne or Blackie as he was lovingly called passed away with his wife at his side. Wayne and Bev's sons David Warren Blackmore (Patti) and Darren Michael Blackmore had been with him that day and the days before. Preceded by his Mother Melissa Briton and Father Walter Blackmore. Wayne met the love of his life in grade 7 at Moscrop Junior High School and they married in 1966 in South Burnaby United Church.

As a young boy Wayne played hockey at the Burnaby Winter Club where he found his love for the game. Wayne had a long time family friend Hank Mathews who took him on holidays every year traveling and boating in the Interior of B. C.

Wayne loved hockey, golf and he loved to dance. He played Old Timers Hockey and the hockey tournaments lead to many trips locally and to the U. S. Wayne had many good buddies who he loved traveling with. He made friends easily with his great sense of humor, he was a big tease and could get away with all his many antics.

Wayne had many job experiences from working in an animal hospital, Super Value, owning his own door company, sales and construction, and working with B. C. Hydro landscaping and painting the electrical boxes.

Wayne was a great father and enjoyed helping and coaching his son's sports, in hockey and lacrosse, he was always there for them.

David, (Patti), Darren and myself will miss him very much, but he will always be with us.

We would like to thank all Wayne's Caregiver's and Doctors especially Dr. Mike Carkner as he became a good friend whom Wayne respected very much.

There will be no service at this time. In Lieu of flowers a donation, to the Parkinson's Michael J. Fox Foundation or Alzheimer Society would be very much appreciated.
