<p>Tom entered eternal life on January 17, 2024, after a six moth battle with cancer. Tom was born April 27, 1950 in Reno NV to Tony and Zetta Bettencourt. </p><p><br></p><p>He was raised in Sparks NV attending local schools. He referred to himself as a farmer. Over the years he raised many animals with cattle being prevalent. He also worked for the NV State Prison Dairy Division overseeing operations. The last 20 years of his life he lived off grid in the Pinenut Mountains of Minden. He was known as "Pinenut Tom". He spent his time helping others digging for gold and artifacts from the past. </p><p><br></p><p>Tom loved the mountains and being in nature. His parents and brothers Tony, Steve, Tim and Carlos Bettencourt preceded him in death. He is survived by sisters Toni Ann Boonos and Jeanne Bettencourt and several nieces and nephews. </p><p><br></p><p> His death has left a hole in the hearts of those who loved him. </p>
