<p>Frank J. Longleway, Jr. passed away surrounded by love on March 16, 2024.</p><p>Frank was born in Cambridge, MA on December 19,1943 to Frank Sr. and Cecilia Longleway. He attended Lexington Public Schools and graduated from Lexington High School. He continued his education at Wentworth Institute of Technology. Frank proudly served his country as a United States Marine.</p><p><br></p><p>Frank excelled as an engineer and draftsman at Polaroid Corporation for over 40 years, where he contributed toward many projects including instant camera film. Frank married the love of his life Ann “Annie” Harrington in 1968 and they shared over 55 years of marriage. Frank built their home in Waltham, MA from the foundation up which was admired for its many unique features. He was well known for his beautiful and meticulously maintained yard and plantings. Upon retirement, he and his wife Ann relocated to West Newbury, MA where he oversaw and actively participated in the construction of their retirement home. Frank was exceptionally talented and shared his talents generously. He had the ability to build anything and fix everything. He was happiest spending time in his yard and garden where he cultivated his many talents reflected in the beautiful gardens and plantings there. In later years he could be seen in his yard and on his tractor from sunrise to sunset every day. He loved nature and especially enjoyed all of the birds and deer that visited his property regularly. </p><p><br></p><p>Frank was a dedicated husband, son, brother, son-in-law, brother-in-law, and uncle. Uncle Frank was a kid at heart, and loved spending time with his nieces and nephews. He was incredibly generous with his time and very supportive, attending countless sporting events and special occasions in support of his nieces and nephews throughout the years. He was always present in the most meaningful ways. </p><p><br></p><p>Frank was predeceased by his parents, Frank Sr. and Cecilia Longleway, his sister, Joan Salamone, his sister-in-law, Gael Harrington Mahon, and his brother-in-law, Thomas Mahon. He is survived by his beloved wife Ann, his brother-in- law, Leo (Carolyn) Harrington, several nieces, nephews, godchildren and an extended family of cousins and family friends he enjoyed spending time with throughout the years. </p><p><br></p><p>A funeral mass will be held on Monday, March 25 at 11:30 AM at Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Parish 920 Trapelo Rd Waltham, MA 02452. There will be a calling hour at the church at 10:30 AM before the funeral mass. </p><p>In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Massachusetts Special Olympics or Our Lady’s Academy 920 Trapelo Rd Waltham, MA 02452.</p>
