Gladys Olivier Obituary

Gladys Olivier, died peacefully at home surrounded by her children on March 18th 2024.

Affectionately known as Dadou, she was born in La Plaine, Haiti, to Micheline Senat and Marcelin Olivier.

She completed all her studies, including university, in Haiti after attending Lycée des Jeunes-filles. One of her favorite spots was Le Lambi Mariani, a beachfront establishment in Haiti known for its exquisite Haitian delicacies and good music. It was there that she developed a love for the musical group Septentrional.

Teaching was her passion.During the summer, she would voluntarily help kids get ready for the upcoming year. She was an educated woman, an entrepreneur in the bakery industry, a seamstress, a designer and she was a beloved school director. She eventually had to leave her life in Haiti behind and migrated to Boston, MA in 2001 to give her children a better future. Dadou aka Dodo was a loving mother and loving grandmother to her grandchildren. She enjoyed knitting, making blankets and hats for family, friends, and especially for her grandchildren. Dadou also loved cooking for her family to the point where her father referred to her as “Cordon Bleu”. Cooking was her love language. She loved family gatherings ,especially her birthday which she would plan two months in advance and made sure to remind you to not forget to attend. Most importantly,Dadou valued her Sunday dinners where she would cook three different type of meals to accommodate her children. She had an immense love for music, especially Racine. She was an avid Boston Celtics and Patriots fan. She enjoyed watching them play and loved it even more when her children and family would come over to watch the game with her.Dadou was a woman of strength who rarely complained and persevered through any challenging obstacle thrown at her in life. She held her head high and was a pillar of strength, especially for her children. She was also a very direct woman but meant it with love. Gladys unconditionally and genuinely loved everyone she came across. She was truly a gem that will never be forgotten. We love you Dadou FOREVER.
