After a near 5 year battle against Pancreatic Cancer, Diane has passed from this Earth into the hands of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Diane always the fighter up to her last hours succumbed peacefully.
Diane worked in the Floral business for nearly 50 years. From her humble beginnings on the North Side at age 16 with Gerard Boeh Flowers and continuing with Flowers by Gerard, she found her calling in Floral Design.
Be it the birth of a child, loss of a loved one or a Matrimonial venue, Diane would pour her heart and soul into her work.
Even after being diagnosed nearly five years ago, Diane would show her skills every holiday, special occasions and whenever needed, never letting her customers down. Diane always made sure there was a smile from her patrons upon receiving her incredible floral gifts.
In Diane’s last act of valor just after Valentine’s Day she made the trek to the Dominican Republic to witness her Granddaughters nuptials bringing the floral arrangements to the ceremony witnessed by over 100 friends and family who celebrated with her.
A special thank you to her precious customers, friends, co-workers, staff at AGH Cancer Center and AHN Hospice Team for aiding us by giving the added time we had over the last 5 years to enjoy her smile, beauty and always positive outlook on everything she saw in life and surely the ever after.
Memorial contributions can be made on Diane’s behalf to the Children at St. Jude’s Hospital.
Family and friends are welcome on Saturday at the Szal Funeral Home, Inc.
