Donna G. "Gerry" (O'Day) (Bellerose) Brunelle Obituary

Donna G. “Gerry” (O’Day) (Bellerose) Brunelle, 76, a longtime resident of Lowell, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2024, at Tufts Medical Center, Boston, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of David C. Brunelle with whom she shared 25 years of marriage.

She was born in Lowell on April 14, 1947, and was the daughter of the late Donald G. and Georgina L. (O’Day) Pineo.

Gerry was raised in Lowell and was educated in Lowell Schools. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for many years until she retired and took on the task of taking care of ALL of her grandchildren for many years. She LOVED to cook not just for her husband but for her kids, her grandchildren AND anyone else that wanted her special meals. She was an avid cribbage player and she would kick butt and take names, but her talent didn’t stop there. She has a room full of trophies representing her accomplishments in playing pool through the years and the list goes on. She was a woman that “men” didn’t like to see coming because it was going to be a challenge to beat that girl. Though she was always about having a good time, her favorite role was being a “Nana”. She treasured every moment she spent with her grandchildren and she could never get enough of them.

In addition to her loving husband Dave, Gerry leaves her son, Raymond J. Bellerose and his wife Lori of Lowell, her daughter Melodie Bellerose and her partner Dave; her grandchildren Raymond (Little Ray) Bellerose, Shanelle (Nel) Bellerose, Owen (O) Gomez, and Luke (Lukey) Dennis, her brothers James O’Day and his wife Chris of Dracut, Keith O’Day and his wife Penny of Texas and a sister G. Louise McCracken of Scotland, her very dear cousin Janet Cluff and her husband Henry of Pelham, NH as well as several nieces and nephews who she adored.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, from 2 – 6 pm at the Dracut Funeral Home, 2159 Lakeview Ave., Dracut.
