    Wilma Ruth Peyton Crossfield, 93, of Harrodsburg, widow of William Goble Crossfield, Jr., died Monday, March 18, 2024 at The Willows in Harrodsburg, KY. 

    She was born in Anderson County to the late Charles Frank Peyton, Sr. and Ruth Ann Stratton Peyton. Ruth was a life-long member at Sand Spring Baptist Church. She was a member of the Faithful Workers Sunday School Class; former head of a bereavement committee; member of the Swinging Saints; and enjoyed traveling with the senior adults. After 33 years Ruth retired from the Kentucky State Government where she worked as a bookkeeper, she also worked in real-estate for a few years. For over 20+ years she worked for the Census in Mercer and Anderson County; was a Kentucky Colonel; volunteered for many years for Relay 4 Life; and also, was an election poll worker in Anderson County. 

     Ms. Crossfield is survived by two children, Doug (Cindy) Crossfield, of Lancaster, KY and Deborah Lynn (Bob) Boyd, of Campbellsburg, KY; 3 grandchildren, William Dustin (Megan) Crossfield, Daniel Joseph (Kelcey) Crossfield, and Matthew Peyton (Kiersten) Crossfield; 7 great-grandchildren, Denver, Emma, Lincoln, Colson, Behr, Kainen and Tobias Crossfield; and sister-in-law, Mary Peyton, of Lawrenceburg.

     Along with her parents and spouse, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Andy Daughtery; 3 brothers, Charles, Hollie and Ollie Frank Peyton; and 3 sisters, Viola Weathers, Annie Bowman, and Mary Hutton. 

    Casket bearers will be Dusty Crossfield, Daniel Crossfield, Peyton Crossfield, Denver Crossfield, Sam Holbrook and John Holbrook. Honorary bearers will be Randy Peyton, Wesley Peyton, George Hanks, and Bob Boyd. 


      Funeral services will be on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 1:00 p.m.at Noon & Son Funeral Home with Dr. Mike Hamrick and Ellery Milburn officiating. Burial will follow in Sand Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 from 5-8 p.m. and on Thursday from 11-1 p.m.
