1935 - 2024

The family announces with great sorrow his passing at the Temiskaming Lodge on Monday, March 18, 2024 at the age of 88 years. Gérard will be sadly missed by his beloved sweetheart Lucille Mathews and his loving children Louise Bélanger (Jules), Nicole Cardinal (Omer), Ronald McLean (Lynn) and Richard McLean (Lucy). Cherished grandfather of Mary-Anne, Patricia, Lisa, Marc, Serge, Patrick, Stephane and late baby Lyne (1992). Dear great grandfather of Ashley, Isabelle, Kaylee, Braydon, Caleb, Emma G., Jake, Emma M., Alivia, Ila, Felix, Jasper and Rupert. Also left to mourn are his siblings Rose Anna Boileau (late Ange Albert Savoie-1976) and late Jules Boileau-2021), Diane Langlois (late Gilles-2008), his brother-in-law Bruno Aylwin, his sisters-in-law Jeannine, Sharon and Louise McLean, his many nieces and nephews and Lucille’s children Celine and Larry. Gérard was predeceased by his wife Gisèle McLean (née Beaudry) (2014), his parents Joséphat (1971) and Jeannette (2003) McLean and his siblings Helene Aylwin (1986), Marcel (2013), Germain (2016), Léo (2010).

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all the doctors, nurses and staff from the hospital, the Temiskaming Lodge and the Community Paramedicine for their care, kindness and support shown to Gérard.

The family will receive friends at Buffam Leveille Funeral Home - Perrin Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 from 1 pm until 3 pm and from 6 pm until 8 pm.and again on Thursday March 21 from 9:30am -10:30am. The funeral mass will be held on Thursday, March 21st, 2024 at 11 am from the Sacred Heart Church. If desired, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society will be gratefully appreciated.
