Dr. John Anthony Werner
<p>Dr. John Anthony Werner, 72, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024 in Fort Smith, AR. Dr. Werner was born August 31, 1951 in Clarksville, AR to the late Bernard and Bernadine (Peterson) Werner. He was a Podiatrist at Mercy Clinic and also had his own private practice. He graduated in 1978 from Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine; he was an instructor of Farriery at Northwest Technical Institute and a volunteer with the Old Fort Days Dandies. He was a member of the Alma Church of Christ. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, working on his farm, riding horses, working his cows, woodworking and spending time at the family cabin. He was a patient, loving husband, father and grandfather with a big heart and a great sense of humor.</p><p><br></p><p>Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Gwen Werner of the home; Daughter, Kari Burger and husband Heath of Mountainburg, AR; Sons, Brian McIntosh and wife Stephanie of Dallas and Brad McIntosh and wife Mary of Rogers; grandchildren, Bryson and Cooper McIntosh, Harper and Ezra Burger; Sisters, Marian Dickerson and husband Billy, Theresa Weick and husband Tim, Celeste Querdibitty and husband David, Constance Holloway and husband Fred, and Stacia Schuele and husband Leo; Brothers, Thomas Werner, DPM, Fred Werner and George Werner and wife Lori.</p><p><br></p><p>Memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2024 at Ocker Chapel of Alma.
