Kenny was born on Sept 7, 1945 at Taylor Hospital to Wm. (Billie) Dickinson and Clarabelle Sanders Dickinson, the 5th of 10 brothers. He was raised on the farm near Sunol, NE.

As a youth he and his brothers worked for the Chappell Sale Barn and local farmers, helping with harvesting and other chores. Kenny especially enjoyed helping his Uncle George Dickinson, working with the horses in the fields and harvesting hay. The horses were used until the 1990s. Kenny also worked at breaking horses to ride during this time.

In 1967, he moved to Sidney and shared a house with his brother Dale and cousins Elvie Bruns and David Hock. He met Susan Merklin at a friend’s home. They were married on July 15, 1971 in Sidney, NE. Kenny worked for the City of Sidney for 40 years and then became a Greeter at Walmart. He enjoyed visiting with everyone and handing our suckers to the children. He was active for many years with the Sidney Volunteer Fire Department. He had the honor and fun of wearing Smoky the Bear suit, talking to children and passing out candy to them. Some of the small kids were scared of him but his caring voice soon changed their mind.

Kenneth always enjoyed playing cards with his family after the Sunday Dinner on the farm with relatives and friends. It was not unusual to have 20 adults and lots of kids around. He loved fishing and camping at the lake with his children and grandkids, playing Horseshoes, going to Oktoberfest, and best of all- watching Western shows on TV.

Kenny dearly loved his family. He is survived by his wife Susan, children, Amy Dickinson and friend Joe Flores; Andy Dickinson, Steve Dickinson and friend Audrey and their children Daneal, Javrien, Dominik, Jaynesa and Devan; Sherry and husband Tracy Fulton, their daughter Kelli and grandchildren SephelIi, Khem, Jesalynn and Brayden; and Kenny and Susan’s youngest son Andy.
