Eileen McTeague

Passed away peacefully at the Owen Sound Gardens Retirement Residence on March 16, 2024. Born in Peterborough on March 1, 1931, Eileen Marie McTeague (nee Shaughnessy) was in her 94th year.

Beloved wife of the late Patrick McTeague. Proud mother of Maureen (Tom) of Wiarton, Sean (Donna) of Wasaga Beach, Kathy of Owen Sound and Elaine of Owen Sound. Loving grandmother of Kevin, Kelly, Meaghan, James, Michael, James Ryan, Keegan and Lindsay. Cherished great-grandmother of Hunter, Rogan, Lyra, Theo and Brooklyn. Dear sister of Marilyn Sullivan of Peterborough. Eileen will also be missed by her many nieces, nephew and friends.

Predeceased by her parents Norman and Helena Shaughnessy and her siblings; Al Shaughnessy and Doreen O’Keefe.

Eileen was a long-time member of the Catholic Women’s League and of the St. Mary’s choir. It is said that a lady always knows when to leave and Eileen was a lady, always elegant and much loved.

Visitation will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's & The Missions Catholic Church, 554 15th St E, Owen Sound, on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 11 a.m. followed by a reception. Interment will take place in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
