Carol S. Newbert

<p>NOBLEBORO – Carol S. Newbert, age 66, died peacefully at her home in Nobleboro after an extended battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. </p><p><br></p><p>Carol was born in Melrose, MA, June 1, 1957, to Henry F. and Martha (Allyn) Sampson. She graduated from Wakefield High School and then attended Holliston Junior College where she received her associates degree in Veterinary Technology. </p><p><br></p><p>Growing up, Carol and her family often vacationed in Maine. It was during these vacations where she met Dwight, the love of her life. They were married on October 1, 1977, and made their home in Nobleboro, where they raised their two children.</p><p><br></p><p>Carol was outgoing and loved people. She worked at the Nobleboro Town Office for 23 years, and volunteered her time to the PTA, boosters club, and the North Nobleboro Community Association. She was also heavily involved in the fundraising efforts for the Making Strides Breast Cancer walk for many years.</p><p><br></p><p>Carol's passion was her family and friends. Whether it be a "quick" phone call to check in, planning weeklong holiday gatherings, or baking whoopie pies to send in care packages, Carol was happiest when she was surrounded by those she loved. She spent her summers at Townline Camping swimming in the lake and roaming from campsite to campsite visiting with friends and family alike. </p><p>Carol was preceded by her parents. </p><p><br></p><p>In addition to her husband Dwight, Carol is survived by her children Danielle Bernier, and husband Andy, of Jefferson; Christopher Newbert, and wife Rachael, of Phippsburg, ME; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Alexis, Jonathan, Adelaide, and Theodore; sisters, Marti Gadberry, of Nobleboro, Brenda Delaney and husband Bob, of Chelmsford, MA; brothers, Skip Sampson and wife, Christel, of Rochester, NH, and Charlie Sampson and wife Jeri, of Lunenburg, MA; as well as many nieces and nephews. </p><p><br></p><p>A gathering of family and friends will take place Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 3-5PM at Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main Street, Waldoboro. </p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association "Carol's Campers", 29 Baptism Beach Rd Jefferson ME 04348; or to American Cancer Society, PO Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.</p><p><br></p><p>To share a memory or condolence with the Newbert family, please visit their Book of Memories at www.hallfuneralhomes.com </p><p><br></p><p>Arrangements are under the care and direction of Hall Funeral Home, Waldoboro, Maine.</p><p><br></p>
