Nicole Marguerite Smith Obituary

Nicole Marguerite (Aube) Smith, 71, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at St. Vincent’s Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Meriden, CT on November 6, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Gerard J. Aube and the late Therese (Laliberte) Aube and had graduated from Southern CT State University.


Ms. Smith was employed by The Archdiocese of Hartford and was a Teacher at St. Laurent School and Corpus Christi School in Wethersfield, CT. She retired in 2015. She was a parishioner of St. Laurent Church of Meriden.


She is survived by her two sons, Christopher Smith, and his wife Kristi Smith, of Meriden and Nicholas Smith of Meriden; her two grandchildren, Drew Smith and Shea Smith; two sisters, Celine (Aube) Fiderio and her husband, John Fiderio and Christelle Aube and her lifelong friend, Lynn Faria and her brothers, and Noel Aube and Norbert Aube. She is also survived by her two nieces, Jamie Guidone and her husband, Keith and their son, Zachary and Tracy Laferriere and her husband David and their children, Hunter, Annabelle and Scarlet and her two nephews, Jonathan Fiderio and his children, Alivia and Kayleigh, as well as Matthew Fiderio and his wife Margaretann. She was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Patricia Aube.


Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, March 21st from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the John J. Ferry and Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, CT 06450.
