Sally A. Pruslow Obituary

Sally A. Pruslow, only child of John and Alice (Johnson) Williams; a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2024, at the age of 78. Born on May 30th, 1945, Sally lived a life full of love, laughter, and kindness. She touched the hearts of all who knew her with her infectious smile, her strong voice, and her ability to help others.

Sally was born and raised in Huntington, but adopted Kings Park as her family’s home. She was very committed to her family and friends. Her door was always open and those lucky enough to walk through knew her hospitality. She loved to cook and enjoyed celebrating the holidays. She loved the opportunity to bring her family together. She loved the Christmas season, but had a special place for St. Patrick’s Day (even before her granddaughter made the day even more special).

Sally lived a life dedicated to service. She started and ended her career as a nurse (RN). Even back as a nurse starting off at Huntington Hospital, she always spoke her mind to whomever she thought needed to hear it. That spirit for advocacy lasted her whole life. When she took time off from employment to raise her children, she put that advocacy to work in her community and that culminated with 9 years on the Kings Park Board of Education (though many years of involvement before and after that service).

All who were fortunate enough to know Sally will miss her greatly. She will be deeply missed by her husband of fifty years, John, her three children, Darren, Alyson, and Michael, and her grandchildren, Alyssa, Alexander, Fern, and Rowan.
