Dr. Timothy L. Smith
<p>Dr. Timothy Lawrence Smith, 74, of La Vernia, TX, entered eternal rest on Saturday, March 16, 2024. Tim was born August 10, 1949, in Dallas, Texas, to Dr. John Smith and Mary Dulin. </p><p><br></p><p>Tim grew up in San Antonio, and attended St. Gerard Catholic High School, where he excelled academically and athletically, playing offense, defense, and special teams for their football team. After graduation from high school, Tim enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served honorably as an Aviation Ordnanceman during the Vietnam War, primarily stationed aboard the USS Constellation. Upon completing his military service, he was trained and licensed as a barber, having a long list of clients from San Antonio and beyond. In his early 30’s, Tim acknowledged and answered his true calling. He returned to school and earned the title of Doctor of Chiropractic, as his father had done before him. He deeply and thoroughly loved being a Chiropractor – he enjoyed serving and tending to others more than anything else. He had lasting relationships for many years with patients and their families from all over South Texas.</p><p><br></p><p>As accomplished as he was professionally, Tim was even more esteemed as a family man. Tim was married to the love of his life, Laurie Smith, for nearly 42 years before her passing in 2020. He is now joyously reunited with her in Heaven. His quiet influence and undeniable inspiration affected his sons, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and countless others. He made others around him better without ever drawing attention to himself.</p><p><br></p><p>Dr. Smith is survived by his sons Jeremy (Amy), Cody (Kristina), and Alexander. Additionally, Tim was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren - Collin Smith, Ryan Smith, Savannah Smith, Henry Smith, Eleanor Smith, and Jacob Smith.
