Billie Ben Powers Obituary

Billie B. Powers, 88, of Coldwater, passed away Monday, March 18, 2024 at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility in Coldwater. In accordance to his wishes, cremation has taken place and a burial of ashes will be held at Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, MI at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. He was born January 7, 1936 to Archie and Maude (Kelley) Powers in Blairsville, GA. On October 21, 1961 Billie married Beverly Ann Van Poucker in East Detroit and she survives. Billie honorably served his country in the United States Army and upon completion of his service, he led a career with A&P Tea Company in Detroit until his retirement in 1983. Mr. Powers was an avid outdoorsman where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and wood working. He was a fan of all sports but what he loved above all else was his family and time well spent with them. Billie will be missed as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. In addition to his wife Beverly Powers of Coldwater, Billie leaves behind his children Nancy (Darrell) Carr of Coldwater, Keith (Tanya) Powers of Concord; his siblings Ken (Elizabeth) Powers of Shelby Township, MI, Frank Powers, Doris Akahoski both of Southgate, MI; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and his many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughters Christine Meyer, Katherine Durbin; his great grandson Alexander Bailey; his siblings Sarah Donatiello, Dorothy Bostain, and Charles Powers. www.dutcherfh.com
