Mary Alice Dorothy Goddard

Mary was Promoted to Glory from St. Peter’s at Chedoke, on March 17, 2024 in her 98th year. Mary has gone on to join her beloved husband Robert who passed January 23, 2021 after 78 years of marriage. Loving parents of Brenda (Frank) Jackson, Karen (Kevin) Lacey and Kevin (Joyce). Loving grandparents of Jason (Maryann), Michael (Dawn), Sarah (Derrick), Rebecca (Keith), Laurinda (Mike), and Courtney (Tony). Dear great grandparents to several great and great-great grandchildren. Mary was the dear sister of Alfred Morris. Predeceased by her sister Irene Hicks and brothers, Robert, Charles and Arthur Morris. Robert was predeceased by his brothers Alex and Len. Robert was a Veteran of the Royal Canadian Navy with 20 years of service including active duty during WW2 and the Korean Conflict. Following his Military career, he became a Stationary Engineer, eventually retiring from Chedoke Hospital in 1990. Heartfelt thanks to the staff at St. Peter’s at Chedoke for their wonderful care of Mary.

As Robert passed during Covid restrictions and could not have a public funeral, friends are invited to a visitation for both Mary and Robert on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service at the Mountain Citadel Salvation Army, 835 Stone Church Road East, Hamilton. A Lunch will be served directly following the service with a graveside committal service to be held at 1:30. If desired, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
