John E. Sherman, Jr., 57, of Coldwater, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2024, at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, from 3-7:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.

John was born December 11, 1966, in Coldwater, MI to John E. & Bonnie (Monroe) Sherman. He graduated from Living Water Christian School in Quincy in 1985. John married Cheryl A. Gleeson on June 26, 1992.

John was a lifelong farmer, owning and operating his family farm. He was very dedicated to his career, earning Farmer of the Year in 2019 from the Branch County Conservation District. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Curling Club in Ft. Wayne. John was active with the Branch County Fair and the 4H Foundation. He enjoyed music, playing the drums and guitar, and he loved reading his Bible every day. John was a devoted family man and greatly treasured the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

John is survived by his wife Cheryl; his children Chelsea (Garrett Cole) Sherman of Coldwater, Ian Sherman of Coldwater; his grandchildren Kane and Kooper Reynolds; his parents John & Bonnie Sherman of Coldwater; his siblings Leshia Sherman of Coldwater, Tim Sherman of Coldwater, Joel (Maria) Sherman of Coldwater, Kathe (Josh) Himebaugh of Bronson, Amanda (Nate) Langworthy of Sturgis; brothers and sisters in-law Bruce & Tonya Gleeson of Coldwater, Linn & Mike McLaughlin of Coldwater, Dola Gleeson of Coldwater, Brenda (Victor Landis) Haas of Coldwater, Scott (Renee) Gleeson of Saranac, Jim (Nicki) Gleeson of Hastings, Michael (Penny) Gleeson of Coldwater and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Rick Gleeson and his mother and father-in-law Jacqueline & Robert Gleeson.
