Richard L. Bailey

<p>Richard L. Bailey, 97, of Harborcreek, passed away Friday, March 15, 2024, at his residence. He was born in Erie, on November 10, 1926, a son of the late LeGrand and Lottie King Bailey. </p><p><br></p><p>Dick graduated from St. Vincent High School in 1945 and went on to serve in the United State Army Air Corps. He worked as a draftsman at General Electric for 40 years, retiring in 1986. Dick enjoyed square dancing, bowling, and playing golf. </p><p><br></p><p>In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two half-sisters, Alice Lecker, and Elva Payne.</p><p><br></p><p>Survivors include his wife, Madge Adams Bailey, with whom he would be celebrating their 75th year wedding anniversary on April 30th; his daughter, Debbie Bailey; his son, Gregory Bailey (Michele), both of Erie; his four grandchildren, Richard (Tiffany), Michael (Michelle), Katherine, and Lucas; and four great-grandchildren, Richard, Dillon, Aiden, and Allie.</p><p><br></p><p>Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Erie Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were made by the Russell C. Schmidt and Son Funeral Home, Inc. 5000 Wattsburg Rd. </p><p><br></p><p>Memorial contributions can be made to the Family Hospice - Erie 1700 Peach St. Erie, PA 16501 or to Shriners Children’s Erie -1645 W 8th St, Erie, PA 16505.</p>
