Obituary

FEDIO, Iwona -

Peacefully passed away at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre on Friday, March 15, 2024 surrounded by her family at the age of 39. Beloved wife of Lukasz Jarosz. Devoted mother to her young daughter, Sophia. Adored daughter of Irena and Andrzej. Dear sister to Michal and Oksana. Will be lovingly remembered by extended family and many friends.

Iwona was an incredibly kind person that touched many souls around her. During her battle with sickness, she was full of positivity that was contagious to others. She fought for 8 months with cancer and gave us more time to spend with her, more than even doctors predicted. This just shows how strong and determined of a person she was, and was a strong role model for many. Iwona was born in Poland, where she lived for most of her life. She had many friends back home that have not forgotten her and were present during these hard times to show their support. This is where she met her husband Lukasz, and they both moved to Canada in 2010 where they started a married life in 2011. Her biggest life achievement in her opinion was giving life to her beautiful daughter Sophia. Everything she has done in the last few months was all for Sophia, as well her husband and family. People called her a fighter. No one would question that. She was a very independent and strong-minded person. She enjoyed her summers at Hawkestone, surrounded by many friends. She enjoyed campfires, good company, and a good beer. She loved a good bargain store and local farmers markets as well. She was very family oriented and always made sure her family and friends were well taken care of. She was an amazing host that loved to try new recipes, invite people over and have a good time. She is leaving behind her family that loved her so much, and her friends that held her hand during this battle. She thought she would never be able to accomplish so much progress if it was not for family and friends that were there by her side.

None of this would also be possible without such an amazing team at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. The people that surrounded us treated us like family: doctors, nurses, support staff and more. For that she and her family will be forever grateful.
