Harold L. Quagliaroli Sr.

<p>Harold L. Quagliaroli Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and dedicated member of the Windsor Locks community, peacefully passed away at the age of 93 on March 15, 2024, at his home surrounded by family. He was the husband of the late Marjorie (Hancock) Quagliaroli, with whom he shared many lively years raising their 4 children.</p><p><br></p><p>Harold was born on August 29, 1930 in Windsor Locks to Joseph and Inez Quagliaroli the oldest of their 3 children. He attended St. Mary’s School, our local high school and could vividly recall what life was like growing up in the 1940’s. Harold enlisted with the military at 20 years old and his commitment to service was evident in his honorable tenure of 39 years with the103rd D Tactical Fighter Group (Flying Yankees) at Bradley ANG base in East Granby, CT, retiring with the esteemed rank of Master Sergeant. Harold also worked part-time for over two decades at Bradley Bowl while his children were growing up, earning what he fondly called ‘pocket money’. Upon retirement from the ANG he continued to keep busy working for Pegasus Specialty Foods as a driver for their catering service. Harold enjoyed meeting people and made many friends delivering specialty gift baskets and luncheons to area residents, business, and our local senior center.</p><p><br></p><p>Harold was a loyal fan of the UCONN Women’s basketball team, often enduring the top row seats at Gampel Pavilion. Family vacations included trips to Sebago Lake in Maine and the Connecticut shoreline. Harold looked forward to annual trips to Walt Disney World with his children and grandchildren. He was delighted to pose for a photo with Princess Jasmine at a Princess Breakfast in the castle. He also enjoyed sunshine, gardening, animals, and never left home without a supply of treats to hand out to his ‘grand dogs’. His cat, Kitty, was a constant companion at home and a source of comfort to him.</p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his four children: Wayne Quagliaroli and his wife Linda of Windsor Locks, Harold Quagliaroli Jr. of Burlington, CT, Lori Quagliaroli of Windsor Locks, and Tamie Quagliaroli and her longtime companion, Norman Weigert, both of Windsor Locks. Harold also leaves behind five grandchildren: Valerie and husband John, Amber and husband Ryan, Jessica, Adam and Joseph; along with six great-grandchildren: Adrianna, John, Domenic, Vincent, Taylor and Gracie -all who brought immeasurable joy to his life.</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his brother Donald Quagliaroli and sister Dorothy Sullivan. In recent years, Harold found solace and strength in his faith and Catholic upbringing and fond memories growing up with them.</p><p><br></p><p>We deeply thank the entire staff at BrightStar Care of Suffield and VITAS Healthcare for their commitment and dedicated care of our Grandpa. Thank you for your compassion, kindness, and professionalism. We also extend our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to Shannon Ermellini.</p><p><br></p><p>Visitation hours will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 4 to 7 PM at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, located at 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks.
