E.D. Berry

<p>Mr. E.D. Berry, resident of Wynne, Arkansas, departed this life on Friday, March 15, 2024, at St. Bernard’s Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas at the age of 76. E.D. was born in Newport, Arkansas on July 18, 1947, the son of Emmett Dixon and Ruth Elizabeth (Guthrie) Berry. </p><p><br></p><p>E.D. was a 1965 graduate of Hickory Ridge High School, and he attended Williams Baptist University. He and the former Linda Kay Beeson were united in marriage on August 6, 1967, and the union was blessed with two sons, Jonathan Eric and Joshua O’Neil. E.D. dedicated 32 years to his work as a production foreman and scheduler at Halstead Industries prior to his retirement in 2000. He was a longtime member of Wynne Church of Christ where he served as a deacon and later as an elder for several years. He loved all things outdoors, especially hunting, shooting, archery, and crappie fishing. He emulated the qualities of kindness, generosity and love, and he will forever be remembered for the most memorable hugs.</p><p><br></p><p>Mr. Berry was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Thomas Elihu “Tom” and James Edward “Jamey” Berry; and two sisters, Etta May and Linda Ray Berry.</p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Linda Berry of the home; two sons, Eric Berry and wife, Kimberly, of St. Louis, Missouri, and Josh Berry and wife, Michelle, of Wynne; a sister, Katheryn Ann Berry and husband, John W. Whitsett, of Nesbit, Mississippi; four grandchildren, Olivia Marie, Elise Nicole, Garrett Hayden and fiancé, Tali Garner, and Emerson Grace Berry; and a host of other relatives and friends.</p><p><br></p><p>Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Wynne Church of Christ with Mr. Fred Strasser and Mr. Tim Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Cogbill Cemetery in Wynne.</p><p><br></p><p>Friends may visit at the church from 10:00 a.m. to service time.</p><p><br></p><p>Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Kevin Berry, James Berry, Bill Davis, Oscar Headley, Charles Oliver, and Johnny Whitsett.</p><p><br></p><p>Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.</p><p><br></p><p>Arrangements by Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home of Wynne.</p>
