<p>James Alexander “Alex” Tyson, 77, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024.&nbsp; He was born on March 2, 1947, to his parents, George and Blanche Alexander Tyson, and was a lifelong resident of Ashley County. </p><p>In 1965, Alex graduated from Crossett High School and soon afterwards, began a career with Georgia Pacific which lasted over four decades. </p><p>Beyond work, Alex enjoyed connecting with nature, whether it was quietly waiting for the next buck to step out or watching the water ripple in the sunshine waiting for the next big fish to bite.&nbsp; He was an outdoorsman.&nbsp; &nbsp;He grew amazing vegetable gardens every year and loved sharing his skills with his grands and great grands. </p><p>Alex loved his family immensely.&nbsp; Being promoted to “Papaw” brought him joy that he could never have imagined.&nbsp; He also loved his church, however, his love for God, was, by far, the strongest. </p><p>Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by two sons, Matthew Lee Tyson, and Mark Alexander Tyson; one brother, Robert Allen Tyson; and one sister, Gloria Tyson Malpass. </p><p>He leaves behind his wife of fifty-eight years, Betty Jeannette Blankenship Tyson of Crossett; four siblings, Gearl Paige (Steve) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Johnnie “Jobie” Johnston (Phillip) of Clinton, AR, Kenneth Tyson (Karen) of Jonesboro, AR, and Greg Tyson of Banks, AR; along with two grandsons, Mark Allen Tyson, and Brady Michael Tyson; and two great grandchildren, Annabell Hays and Rhyatt Watt all of Crossett. </p><p>A Graveside Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., April 6th, at Crossroads Cemetery with Bro. Lloyd Gibbs, officiating. </p>

James Alexander “Alex” Tyson, 77, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024.  He was born on March 2, 1947, to his parents, George and Blanche Alexander Tyson, and was a lifelong resident of Ashley County.
