John Edward White Obituary

John Edward White, 72, passed away peacefully at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Southaven, MS on March 16, 2024. He was born on May 31, 1951, to the late Norma Johnson White and James Vernon White.

John was a member of Mt. Vernon Methodist Church in Looxahoma, MS. He worked at Chromcraft Corp. in Senatobia, MS in management for over 40 years. John was a proud supporter of Magnolia Heights School and especially the football team. On game days, he supported the athletic department by using his cooking skills to provide burgers and catfish, his specialty, for the booster club concession stand. He had just the right blend of seasonings that brought customers back again and again. Not only was he an excellent grill master, but he also enjoyed cooking delicious dishes for family meals. John was a devoted family man who loved his family and supported his grandchildren in all their sporting events. He loved being part of a close-knit family and considered his cousins like brothers and sisters. He will be deeply missed by friends, family, and community alike.

Left to cherish his memory includes his wife, Linda Woolfolk White, of Hernando; daughters, Kristin Coon (Ben) of Bartlett, TN, and Jennifer Herring (Darin) of Olive Branch; stepdaughters that he considered as his very own, Stacey Young (Cliff) of Senatobia, and Emily King (Reagan) of Southaven; and nine grandchildren. John is preceded in death by his parents, Norma and James White, and one brother, Melvin White.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Baptist Memorial Hospital-Desoto in Southaven for the excellent care that John and his family received during his recent hospital stay.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Magnolia Heights School, 1 Chiefs Dr, Senatobia, MS 38668, or to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75231.

Visitation will be held at Ray Nowell Funeral Home in Senatobia on Thursday, March 21, 2024, from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
