<p>Carol M. Christianson, 92, of Upham, North Dakota passed away Saturday evening March 16, 2024 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home of Bottineau, North Dakota.&nbsp;She was born July 10, 1931 in Denbigh, North Dakota to Mary (Benjamin) Wagar on the day of her father’s (James Ervin Wagar) funeral.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>They moved to Bantry for a few years and then when Carol was 5 years old, Mary married Arthur Shroyer in Upham. Carol attended Upham school and graduated with the class of 1949. One of the highlights of her school years was playing girls basketball in the state tournament in Carrington. Her friend, Ellen, introduced Carol to Ellen’s brother, Teddy Christianson, and they were married September 25, 1949 in Upham.<br></p><p>The couple made their home, raised their family and milked cows from 1949 through 1972 on the farm. In 1972 they moved into Upham where they both worked at the Upham school as custodians. They retired in 1988. They were married for 68 years until Teddy passed away in 2018. She was a long time member of the Upham 55+ Club. In 2020 Carol moved into Haaland Estates assisted living in Rugby. In 2021 she moved to Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Bottineau.</p><p>She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting and playing any kind of game, especially playing cards and Bingo. She could cook a Spam loaf like no one else and even learned to make vinarterta and panakukur for the Icelanders.</p><p><br></p><p>She is survived by her children, Grant Theodore (Patricia) of Justin, Texas, Susan Ann McGee of Lake Metigoshe and Thomas Lee (Denise) of Upham; grandchildren, Christopher (Cari) Christianson, Heather (Anthony) Rollins, Zachary (Holly) Christianson, Mitchell McGee, Dr. Matthew McGee, Malynda (Travis) Iglehart, Sean (Dr. Chelsea) Erickson and Craig (Sarah) Erickson; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Ellen Miller, Mary Christianson and Bertha Shroyer; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Teddy; son-in-law, Richard McGee; brothers, Kenneth and Leo; stepbrother, Lloyd; stepsisters, Hope and Lois and her parents.</p><p><br></p><p>Celebration of life and burial will be on July 10, 2024 in Upham.</p><p><br></p>
