Tony Edward Autrey

Tony Edward Autrey passed away Friday, March 15th, 2024 at Mobile Infirmary Hospital surrounded by family.

Tony was born January 17, 1952 to Osa Freeman (Tobe) Autrey and Eulabel Reed Autrey.

He is survived by his wife, Dr. Edwina Hart-Autrey; his brother, Mike Autrey (Cheryl); daughters, Tonya Rice (Charlie) and Amanda DeMent (Daryl); step daughter, Kimberly Chestang; granddaughters, Christa Chase (Brandon), Kloee Katherine Rollins, and AnaLeighton Rice; step granddaughter, Madisen Deas (Gareth); step-grandson, Dusten DeMent; great grandchildren, Bentley Ramsey, Easton Chase, and Aubrie Chase; great nieces, Michele Eilers and Melanie Unruh (Brian); nephew, Micheal Autrey( Molly) and loved by many other family and friends.

Tony was preceded in death by his father, Tobe Autrey; mother, Eulabel Reed Autrey; and wife, Katherine (Kathy) Autrey.

He worked at Miller Saw Mill, Boise Cascade, Linden Lumber, and Canfor. He was currently retired. Tony loved his family and friends and didn’t meet a stranger. He was always willing to help others. That was what he liked to do. He was a graduate of Sweet Water High School. He will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held at O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 from 1:00 pm until the 2:00 pm service time with Rev. JoAnn Garner officiating. Burial will follow at Choctaw Corner Cemetery in Thomasville, AL.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made in memory of Tony to the American Heart Association.
